Born Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr. 1942- .
US boxer. Olympic light-heavyweight champion
1960, he went on to become world professional
heavyweight champion 1964, and was the only
man to regain the title twice. He was known
for his fast footwork and extrovert nature.
He had his title stripped from him 1967 for
refusing to be drafted into the US Army. He
regained his title 1974, lost it Feb 1978,
and regained it seven months later. He had
the last of his 61 professional fights 1982
against Trevor Berbick.
